Hinge is Honored with Three AVA Awards

RESTON, VA, February 26, 2014—Hinge announced today that three of its website designs have received prizes in the annual AVA Digital Awards.

Hinge received the very highest Platinum award for its website redesign for the The Alford Group. Hinge won a second place Gold award with its website for LBMC Security & Risk Services, while its website for the U.S. Green Building Council-Capital Region picked up an Honorable Mention.

For The Alford Group’s website, the Hinge design team chose “a clean, classy, and crisp design,” said designer Kristin Claeys. As the centerpiece of the homepage, the Hinge team used sliders with large black and white photographs and minimal text. “We wanted the website to have a classic feel to it, and to let the powerful photographs help convey the story,” Claeys noted. The result is a design that is sophisticated yet simple, allowing The Alford Group’s message to come through.

For LBMC Security & Risk Services, Hinge created a high-performance website that would allow for blogging and lead generation. Through the website, Hinge helped LBMC reposition itself with a greater emphasis on providing IT security for the healthcare sector. Using images that complemented the blue in the LBMC logo, the Hinge design team selected images with the intent of provoking thought when juxtaposed with the overlaid text.

For the U.S. Green Building Council-Capital Region (USGBCNR) website, the Hinge team went with a bold, innovative design that would reflect the cutting-edge sustainable architecture and design work that is at the heart of the USGBCNR organization’s mission. The homepage design features large sliding photographs that extend across the entire page, with compelling text overlaid on top.
